Festival season is round the corner, whether you’re going to a full weekend of music or a one day carnival we have some great ideas for quick makes and hint and tips for layered jewellery to ensure you do not lose your precious jewels.
Perfect of adding a splash of colour to your holiday outfit.
If you want something a little dressier why not make your tassels from chain. The chain tassels add a lovely bit of movement to these sweet star earrings.
This one is my personal favourite – I’ll be wearing this necklace on my summer holiday!
Why not make a matching necklace or 3, to the pretty earrings above. These lovely star beads have a big enough hole that you can thread them onto your chain; simply use chain nose pliers to open the jump ring, thread the bead onto the chain and re-attach the clasp – so simple and for a grand total of £1.30 – £2.00 per necklace you can definitely have all 3!
Layering your chains is a great way to ensure you can wear all your favourites at once and a nice way to mix and match for different outfit. It can get a bit fiddly doing them all up, so we’ve got a great tip for making this easier.
Steph made a short video for you to demonstrate just how easy it is to make an interchangeable multi-strand clasp.
We’ve noticed a huge rise in the popularity of semi precious stones recently, with lovely Druzy drops and Lava beads as well as the more traditional tumble chips, I love the organic shapes and texture of tumble chips and just simply stringing a few together and adding to chain to make a necklace is an easy way to make a pretty and tactile necklace like these amethyst beads.
It’s even easier to make matching, elasticated tumble chip bracelets, here we have Moonstone and Blue Lace Agate, which look great together.
For the carnival goers you cannot beat a fun bright flamingo, pineapple or a slice of juicy melon; simply hang them from chain or cord and you’re ready to go!
I hope this has inspired some summer jewellery making, don’t forget you can share you makes with us by using #thebeadshopnottingham on social media, we always love to see what you’ve made with our products.
